Trump’s weekend of crazy
This weekend, Trump was on an absolute delusional crazy train. After heading back to Florida on Thursday for some golf, he spent the weekend blasting out one wild statement after another-tweets, Truth Social rants, memes, you name it. It honestly feels like he gets more unhinged every single day.

Let’s break down the madness:

On the Constitution and Due Process
When asked if he’d actually uphold the Constitution-specifically, due process-he literally said he didn’t know. Seriously? Did he forget his own swearing-in, where he promised to protect the Constitution? It’s like he can’t even remember the basics of the job.

Alcatraz Nonsense
He threw out the idea of reopening Alcatraz for prisoners. That’s not just misguided, it’s flat-out ridiculous. Alcatraz has been closed for over 60 years and is now a tourist spot. Rebuilding and reopening it would cost a fortune and take years. But hey, why let reality get in the way of a headline?

Tariff Entertainment Shows
He rambled about wanting tariffs on entertainment shows made overseas. How would that even work, Donald? Does he think Netflix is just going to film everything in Florida now? It’s just more empty bluster with no plan.

Gas and Grocery Prices
He keeps tossing out random numbers, like gas being $1.48 a gallon. That’s not the price at the pump-that’s before gas is even refined. And he keeps saying grocery prices (like eggs) are dropping. I don’t know where he’s shopping, but I sure haven’t seen it. Most people haven’t.

Military Parade Fantasy
He’s super excited about his big FWA military parade, which is going to cost us a ton of money. It’s all just to give himself that “strongman” feeling he thinks Putin or Kim Jong Un get when they watch their armies march by. It’s all ego, all the time.

The Pope Meme
And then, the cherry on top: he posted a picture of himself as the Pope. Not only is this completely inappropriate and offensive (especially right after the actual Pope’s funeral), it’s just gross. He’s the furthest thing from a Christian, and the fact that he thinks this is funny or clever is just disgusting.
Yes, Trump is now claiming he doesn’t know who created or posted the AI-generated image of himself as the pope. Today, he told reporters, “I just saw it last evening,” and insisted he had nothing to do with producing the image, describing it as a joke. He added that Melania Trump thought it was “charming”.
However, this claim comes after the image was posted on his own Truth Social account and then quickly amplified by official White House social media channels, making his denial questionable. The image has drawn widespread criticism from Catholic leaders and others for being insensitive and poorly timed, given the recent death of Pope Francis and the upcoming conclave.

Trump is becoming more dangerous by the day. As his popularity tanks, it just seems to feed his need for attention and drive the media cycle. I honestly have no idea how much longer this can go on, but at this point, there’s more than enough reason to start talking about how to remove him. This is beyond embarrassing-it’s reckless.

Cinco De Mayo Cancelations
Because of Trump’s ramped-up immigration crackdowns, some cities actually canceled their Cinco de Mayo celebrations this year out of fear that ICE would show up and start detaining people.

Chicago pulled the plug on its huge Little Village parade-organizers said people were just too scared to show up, and half the sponsors bailed.

South Philly canceled its big Carnaval de Puebla for the same reason-no one wanted to risk ICE making an appearance.

Even in Madras, Oregon, they scrapped their Latino Fest, saying it just didn’t feel safe to celebrate right now.

Trump’s ICE raids have people so on edge that they’re skipping out on their own cultural celebrations just to stay safe. That’s how bad it’s gotten.

Trump’s Unmet 2024 Campaign Promises (as of May 5, 2025)
Just as a reminder of all the things Trump promised in his campaign…
1. End the Russia-Ukraine War
- Promise: Trump repeatedly claimed he would end the Russia-Ukraine war “within 24 hours” of taking office.
- Status: The war continues, with no ceasefire or peace agreement reached. U.S. negotiations have stalled, and Russia continues its attacks.

2. Dramatically Lower Grocery Prices (Including Eggs)
- Promise: Trump pledged to quickly bring down grocery prices, specifically naming staples like eggs.
- Status: Grocery prices have not dropped; in fact, prices for many staples remain high or have increased. No significant relief has been delivered to consumers.

3. Achieve 4% or Higher Economic Growth
- Promise: Trump said GDP would grow by 4% or more, and possibly up to 6%.
- Status: Economic growth has not reached these levels. Growth remains below the promised rate.

4. Replace the Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) With a “Terrific” Plan
- Promise: Trump promised to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act with a plan that would cover everyone.
- Status: No replacement plan has been enacted, and the ACA remains in place.

5. Lower Prescription Drug Prices by Allowing Medicare Negotiation
- Promise: Trump pledged to let Medicare negotiate directly with drug companies to lower prices.
- Status: He abandoned this promise and even threatened to veto legislation that would have enabled it. Drug prices have not dropped as promised.

6. Eliminate the Department of Education
- Promise: Trump vowed to abolish the Department of Education and return control to the states.
- Status: The department remains. While there have been cuts and layoffs, full elimination requires congressional action and has not happened.

7. End the War on Drugs/Opioid Crisis on Day One
- Promise: Trump claimed he would solve the opioid crisis immediately.
- Status: The opioid crisis continues at record levels; no comprehensive solution has been implemented.

8. Ban Sanctuary Cities**
- Promise: Trump said he would ban sanctuary cities by sending a bill to Congress.
- Status: No such bill has been drafted or passed.

9. Ban the Green New Deal
- Promise: Trump promised to “ban the Green New Deal.”
- Status: The Green New Deal is not federal law, so there is nothing to ban. No action has been taken here.

10. End Birthright Citizenship
- Promise: Trump pledged to end birthright citizenship by executive order.
- Status: Legal experts agree this is beyond presidential authority. No change has been made; birthright citizenship remains.

11. 25% Tariff on Canada and Mexico
- Promise: Trump said he’d impose a 25% tariff on Canadian and Mexican imports.
- Status: No such tariffs have been enacted.

12. Make Housing More Affordable
- Promise: Trump vowed to make housing more affordable for working families.
- Status: Housing costs remain high, with no major policy changes to address affordability.

13. End Inflation and Lower Consumer Prices
- Promise: Trump said he would “end inflation” and make life more affordable.
- Status: Inflation has slowed slightly but not ended, and overall prices have not dropped as promised.

14. Government Efficiency Commission (DOGE)
- Promise: Trump promised a commission to audit and cut government waste.
- Status: The initiative has not delivered the promised savings and has faced confusion and legal challenges.

15. Overhaul Federal Government (Mass Layoffs, Restructuring)
- Promise: Trump promised a sweeping overhaul of the federal government, including mass layoffs and restructuring.
- Status: While some layoffs have occurred, the promised overhaul has not materialized.

Trump has failed to deliver on a wide range of his most high-profile campaign promises, including ending the war in Ukraine, lowering everyday costs for Americans, eliminating federal agencies, and enacting sweeping economic and social policy changes. Many of these pledges remain unfulfilled due to legal, practical, or political barriers, or were never feasible to begin with.

Trumps Mental Decline
Honestly, just watching Trump lately, it’s obvious something is seriously off. He rambles more than ever, gets lost in his own sentences, and half the time you can’t even tell what point he’s trying to make. He’ll start talking about one thing and then veer off into some wild tangent about sharks, fictional serial killers, or whatever random thought pops into his head. It’s like his brain can’t hold onto a single idea for more than a few seconds.

He’s constantly mixing up names and facts-like confusing Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, or repeatedly saying he’s running against Obama (who isn’t even in the race). That’s not just normal aging; experts say that kind of confusion is a red flag for advanced dementia. And then there are the made-up words and garbled speech-he’ll try to say “missile” and it comes out as “mishuz,” or he just starts making sounds that aren’t words at all. That’s not just being tired or having a “senior moment”-that’s classic dementia stuff, according to neurologists and psychologists who’ve actually studied this.

Physically, he’s gotten more awkward too-using a weird, wide-legged walk and sometimes struggling with basic movement, which doctors say is another sign of frontotemporal dementia.

But maybe the most alarming thing is how impulsive and erratic he’s become. He’ll blurt out these wild, half-baked ideas (like reopening Alcatraz or playing DJ at a rally for half an hour) with no filter, and then sometimes immediately backtrack or contradict himself. Even people who worked closely with him before are saying the decline in just the last few years is “shocking”.

This isn’t just about Trump being Trump. The experts-thousands of them-are flat-out saying he’s showing unmistakable signs of severe cognitive decline and probably dementia. He’s not just getting older; he’s losing his grip on reality, and it’s getting harder and harder to ignore.

Big Beautiful Budget Deal and the Consequences
If Trump’s proposed budget passes, the following major cuts would take effect:

- Education: Deep cuts, with the Department of Education’s budget slashed by about 15%. Many programs could be eliminated or severely reduced, and the department itself is targeted for significant downsizing or possible closure.
- Housing: The Department of Housing and Urban Development would see its funding nearly halved, putting housing assistance programs at risk.
- Medical Research and Public Health: Budgets for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) would be cut by over 40%, threatening medical research, disease prevention, and public health initiatives.
- National Parks: The National Park Service would lose over $1 billion-more than 75% of its operating budget-potentially eliminating funding and staffing for at least 350 national park sites. Some parks could be turned over to state management or removed from the National Park System entirely.
- Environmental Protection: Major reductions would hit environmental programs, climate research, and science grants, as well as public lands and conservation funding.
- Foreign Aid and State Department: A $50 billion cut to the State Department, including the integration (and likely reduction) of the U.S. Agency for International Development.
- IRS: More than $2 billion in cuts to the Internal Revenue Service, which analysts warn could reduce tax collection and worsen the deficit.
- Federal Law Enforcement: Significant cuts to federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programs: Elimination of many federal diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and environmental justice programs.
- Social Programs: Reductions in economic and disaster assistance, rental assistance, and other public welfare programs.

What gets more funding:
- Defense: Defense spending would rise by 13% to $1 trillion, with a nearly 65% increase in homeland security funding, especially for border security and immigration enforcement.
If Trump’s budget passes, there would be historic cuts to education, housing, health research, national parks, environmental protection, and social programs, while defense and border security would see major funding boosts. Many agencies would face their deepest reductions in decades, and hundreds of national park sites could lose all federal support.

These cuts would devastate working families, the poor, and anyone who depends on public services. Prices would rise, jobs and wages would suffer, and the most vulnerable would be left with even less support. Advocates and experts call this budget “extreme” and “dark”-and if it passes, the impact would be felt in nearly every American community
