The Tale of the Big, Beautiful Truth: Circus Week of 24 – 30 May, 2025

What a whirlwind these past two weeks have been! We celebrated a birthday and renewed our vows, marking 18 wonderful years filled with love and laughter. Our hearts are so full after spending time with so many family members and friends—we truly feel blessed to share this beautiful life with the people we love most.

Today, our last family member headed home—Mom. She stayed an extra week after Dad so she could soak up more time with us and catch the spectacular USAFA Thunderbird show.

And now, it’s Friday Fun Day once again! So, here’s a short story for kids about why being a good person really matters. Enjoy!

Once upon a time, in the town called America, the circus led by Mr. Trump and his troupe had a very eventful week. Here’s what happened with each of the helpers and leaders during this week:

Karoline Leavitt’s “Coverup” Claim

On May 29, Karoline Leavitt, the circus’s press secretary, told everyone at a big press meeting that there was a “CLEAR coverup” about a health scare involving a government official. She said people were hiding the truth, but didn’t share any proof, making many in the town confused and worried. She also repeated that “we will deport you if you’re here illegally,” showing little kindness to people who might need help.

Elon Musk’s Farewell and Trump’s Praise

On May 30, Mr. Trump held a press conference with Elon Musk, who was ending his official job with the circus. Even though Musk had said he sometimes disagreed with the ringmaster, Trump insisted Musk would still be around and praised him for firing thousands of helpers to “save money”. Many felt this was greedy and didn’t care about the families who lost their jobs. Musk admitted he felt “trapped” and couldn’t always say what he really thought.

Vice President Vance’s Graduation Speech

Vice President JD Vance gave a speech at the Naval Academy graduation ceremony this week. He spoke to the new officers about service and leadership. Some remembered how, in the past, he had made fun of people who didn’t have children, which hurt many feelings. This week, he didn’t apologize, making people wonder if he cared about being kind to everyone.

Defense Secretary Hegseth’s Speech in Singapore

On May 30, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth traveled all the way to Singapore to talk about keeping the world safe. But many in the town remembered how he had fired people who disagreed with him and stopped important work for the earth, making people worry that he only listened to those who said “yes” to him.

Kristi Noem’s Immigration Crackdown

This week, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was interviewed about the circus’s tough new immigration rules. She bragged about sending dozens of migrants to a prison in El Salvador and said border agents were less overwhelmed now because of the new crackdown. She also blamed “undocumented migrants” for stealing her purse, even though the investigation wasn’t finished. Many people thought this was unfair and unkind.

Speaker Mike Johnson’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was proud to pass Mr. Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” by just one vote on May 25. The bill cut help for poor families and students, took away money for clean energy, and made it harder for people to get food and health care. When asked how people would manage, Johnson said it was about stopping “fraud” and making people work, even though many would lose important help they needed.

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Social Media Irony

Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the circus’s loudest helpers, warned on social media this week that “too much social media turns things a bit toxic,” even though she often uses it to attack others and spread anger. People pointed out how she was being hypocritical, telling others not to do what she does all the time.

RFK Jr.’s Controversial Testimony

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) appeared before the Senate again, defending his views on vaccines and health. He kept saying he was “pro-science,” but many doctors and senators were worried because his past statements made people doubt important medicines and could put children at risk.

The Ringmaster’s Week

Mr. Trump spent the week praising his helpers, firing those who disagreed, and insisting he was always right. He celebrated firing thousands of workers and signed new rules that would make it harder for families to get help, all while claiming it was for the good of the town. He surrounded himself with people who only said “yes,” and ignored those who tried to tell him the truth.

And, in a twist that made everyone in the circus laugh and scratch their heads, the ringmaster demanded tacos at all hours of the day and night. He posted his taco requests on Truth Social for everyone to see, insisting that “no one makes better tacos than me, believe me!” The helpers scrambled to keep up, but the children wondered if maybe the ringmaster should spend more time listening and less time thinking about tacos.

The Lesson

The children of America saw all these things and remembered:
- It’s not okay to spread rumors or blame others without proof.
- Firing people just for disagreeing isn’t kind or smart.
- It’s wrong to take away help from those who need it most.
- Everyone should be able to speak the truth, even if it’s hard.
- Real leaders listen, care, and treat everyone with respect.

And so, the children promised to always tell the truth, be kind, and stand up for what’s right—no matter how loud the circus became.

The End.
