Canadian Win!
Mark Carney and the Liberals just won the Canadian election, and honestly, it’s a huge slap in the face to Trump. Trump spent weeks threatening Canada with tariffs and even floated the wild idea of making Canada the “51st state.” Instead of scaring Canadians, all that did was fire them up and push them right back into the arms of the Liberals.
The Conservatives were actually leading for a while, but Trump’s constant meddling and big talk about annexation made a lot of Canadians nervous about losing their independence. People saw the Conservatives as being a little too cozy with Trump, so when push came to shove, voters rallied around the Liberals to stand up for Canadian sovereignty.
That whole “51st state” nonsense just backfired. Canadians weren’t having it, and it ended up uniting the country against Trump’s interference. So, bottom line: Trump’s attempts to bully Canada totally backfired and helped the Liberals win big.
Trump’s Promises…not kept
Here’s a list of major things Trump promised would happen within his first 100 days this term-but hasn’t followed through on:
- Ending the Russia-Ukraine War: Trump repeatedly claimed he’d end the war “before I even take office” or within “24 hours” of being sworn in. The war is still ongoing, with no ceasefire or peace deal in sight.
- Mass Deportations: He promised the largest deportation operation in U.S. history. So far, the numbers are well below what he pledged-about 500,000 deportations are expected this year, less than the 685,000 under Biden last year. His plan to send 30,000 migrants to Guantanamo Bay has only resulted in about 400 being sent, and the larger plan appears stalled.
- Ending Birthright Citizenship: Trump issued an executive order to end automatic citizenship for children born in the U.S. to undocumented parents, but courts have blocked it as unconstitutional, and it hasn’t taken effect.
- Cutting Taxes on Tips, Overtime, and Social Security: He said he’d eliminate federal taxes on these, and make his first-term tax cuts permanent. None of this has happened-he needs Congress, and there’s been no movement.
- Lowering Prices (Gas, Groceries, Utilities): Trump said he’d bring down the cost of living, including getting gas under $2/gallon and slashing grocery prices. In reality, prices for groceries and gas are still higher than a year ago, and utility bills haven’t dropped yet. Some of his new tariffs may actually push prices up instead of down.
- Reducing Government Waste: He promised a sweeping initiative to cut government waste and save billions. Only a fraction of the promised savings have materialized so far.
-Quick Energy Relief: Trump declared an energy emergency and promised lower utility bills, but the results are still pending and he’s now saying to expect those savings next year.
Trump’s fallen short on his big 100-day promises to end the Ukraine war, carry out mass deportations, end birthright citizenship, cut key taxes, lower everyday prices, and slash government waste. Most of these are either stalled, blocked by courts, or haven’t even started.

RFK backs the plan to shut down the Narcan program
Yep, RFK Jr. is backing the plan to shut down the federal Narcan program. This is the grant that’s been putting Narcan in the hands of first responders all over the country and saving lives during the fentanyl crisis. The Trump administration’s new budget cuts it, and Kennedy-despite his own history with addiction-is now saying we should focus more on community and spiritual solutions instead of just relying on Narcan.
It’s not officially dead yet, but they’ve already stopped taking new applications, so it looks like the program is on its way out. A lot of addiction experts are sounding the alarm, saying this move could undo the progress we’ve made on overdose deaths and put a lot of people at risk.

Hegseth Cuts Trump’s “woke” program from 2017
Trump signed the Women, Peace & Security Act into law back in 2017 to boost women’s roles in national security and peace efforts-a move that had strong bipartisan support. Now, Defense Secretary Hegseth just killed the Pentagon’s WPS program, calling it “woke” and a distraction, even though it was a Trump-era initiative. The Pentagon will only do the bare minimum required by law and is pushing Congress to scrap the rest. So, a program Trump once touted is now being attacked as “woke” by his own team.

Amazon tariff prices and a melt down
Karoline Leavitt, without her cross on today, had a full-blown meltdown because Amazon was reportedly going to show shoppers exactly how much Trump’s tariffs are jacking up prices. She called it a “hostile and political act” and whined, “Why didn’t Amazon do this when Biden’s inflation was high?” Never mind that tariffs are a Trump policy and Amazon was just being transparent about who’s actually paying for them (spoiler: it’s the American consumer, not China).

Leavitt even dragged up some old story about Amazon supposedly working with Chinese propaganda, as if that distracts from the fact that Trump’s tariffs are what’s making stuff more expensive. Meanwhile, Trump himself called up Bezos to complain, which just makes him look thin-skinned-he’s furious that Amazon would dare point out the real-world impact of his own policies.
Trump puts tariffs in place, Amazon considers telling people the truth about what those tariffs cost, and the White House loses it-accusing Amazon of being political for simply showing the math. It’s laughable. Trump wants credit for being “tough on China,” but throws a fit when anyone points out it’s Americans footing the bill.
We are about to feel the real pain of tariff war with China
We’re about to see real pain at the store-and it’s already starting behind the scenes. Thanks to Trump’s massive new tariffs, the U.S. supply chain is seizing up in ways that look worse than what we saw during COVID.
Here’s what’s happening right now:
- Empty Ports: U.S. ports, especially on the West Coast, are seeing a surge in empty containers and “blank sailings”-ships leaving China and coming back with little or nothing to pick up. At the Port of Los Angeles, empties jumped 23% last month, and imports are expected to drop by 35% in the next two weeks. Major carriers are canceling shipments at a pace even faster than during the pandemic.
- Empty Trucks: With fewer imports coming in, there’s less work for truckers, warehouse workers, and longshoremen. Trucks that used to haul goods from ports are sitting idle or running empty, which means lost income and jobs up and down the logistics chain.
- Empty Shelves: Retail giants like Walmart and Target are warning that shelves could be bare in a matter of weeks if trade policy doesn’t change. Orders for goods from China have basically stopped, and the National Retail Federation expects a 20% drop in imports for the rest of the year. The first things to disappear will be affordable basics-clothes, shoes, toys, electronics, and even some food products.
- Worse Than COVID: This isn’t just a repeat of the pandemic. During COVID, supply chains were disrupted by lockdowns and panic buying, but now the government itself is creating the bottleneck. Companies rushed to import as much as they could before tariffs hit, but that stockpile is running out fast. Once it’s gone, shortages will cascade through stores, and prices on what’s left will skyrocket.
- No Quick Fix: If tariffs stay in place, shortages will get worse, especially heading into big shopping seasons like back-to-school and the holidays. The pain will hit first at discount retailers and for families looking for affordable goods. And as shelves go empty, panic buying could make it all spiral-just like in the worst days of COVID, only this time it’s self-inflicted.
We’re already seeing empty ports and idle trucks. Empty shelves are next-and unless something changes, this will be an economic gut punch that makes COVID shortages look mild by comparison.

The “Big Beautiful Bill” RUSH
Trump’s agenda that he wants Congress to pass by Memorial Day is a massive, catch-all bill that advances his top priorities for his second term. Here’s what’s in it and what’s at stake:
- Extend and expand the 2017 Trump tax cuts: The bill would keep Trump’s earlier tax cuts from expiring at the end of this year and add even more tax breaks, mostly benefiting corporations and high earners.
- Raise the debt ceiling by up to $5 trillion: This would allow the government to keep borrowing and avoid a default, but it comes with big strings attached. This would be the largest single debt ceiling increase in U.S. history, allowing far more borrowing than any previous deal-up to four times as much as past increases over the last 15 years combined.
- Increase spending on defense, border security, and immigration enforcement: The plan includes hundreds of billions more for the military (including Trump’s “Golden Dome” missile defense) and for Trump’s hardline border and deportation agenda.
- Slash spending elsewhere: Committees are being told to find at least $1.5 trillion in cuts, with Medicaid, clean energy programs, and other social spending on the chopping block. There’s a big push for new work requirements and tougher eligibility rules for Medicaid, which could mean millions lose coverage.
- Boost fossil fuel production: The bill aims to roll back Biden-era clean energy policies and ramp up oil, gas, and coal.
Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” is a sweeping package of tax cuts, spending hikes for the military and border, deep cuts to social programs, and a debt ceiling increase. He and GOP leaders want it passed by Memorial Day, using the fast-track budget reconciliation process so they can do it without any Democratic votes. The details are still being hammered out in committees, but the goal is clear: lock in Trump’s second-term agenda as quickly as possible.

Vague Raid in Colorado Springs
Here’s what actually went down in the Colorado Springs nightclub raid:
- Feds and local cops hit a packed club in southeast Colorado Springs, looking for drugs, prostitution, and violent crime. They found over 200 people inside, including folks from all over Latin America-Guatemala, Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua, Chile, and Honduras.
- ICE says they’re now holding 105 people, not the 114 they first reported. No one’s explained where those 9 went or why they were let go. Classic lack of transparency.
- Seventeen active-duty military members were inside during the raid. Some were working security, some were just there. The Army says they’ll handle it “internally,” but no word on charges.
- DEA claims they saw gang members (Tren de Aragua, MS-13, Hell’s Angels) coming and going during surveillance, but it’s not clear if any were actually there when the raid happened.
- They seized some guns and drugs, but haven’t given any real details. And despite all the hype, no one’s actually been charged with a crime yet-most people are just in ICE custody for immigration stuff.
So….much like Musk’s budget savings number….super vague with no real evidence or charges filed….Big show of force, lots of headlines, but so far, not much substance. ICE is holding 105 people, nobody knows what happened to the missing 9, and there’s still no word on actual criminal charges.

101 days folks. 1,362 more days to go. However, if he keeps at this pace – it could be less. I honestly think that we are ALL (to include MAGA) are about to feel the consequences of our actions or inactions. And we’ll probably get a couple of servings of it. Lift each other up, welcome those who have seen the light. For now – keep spreading truth! Consider attending a local protest this Thursday – 1 May. https://www.fiftyfifty.one/events
