Shadow Hearing held on 24 Nov 2025…details/explanation

Democrats basically staged an unofficial oversight hearing yesterday to drag Trump’s ICE machine into the light and make clear how ugly and out‑of‑control this second‑term deportation blitz has gotten, even though Republicans tried to keep it off the official books. I watched all of it and was highly impressed with how it was conducted, the testimony given and the facts supported by all who presented.  Very powerful and worth the watch if you have a few hours.

The point of the “shadow hearing” was simple: if MAGA House leadership will not hold real oversight on Trump’s raids and mass detentions, Democrats will do it themselves and build a record for when the hammer eventually comes down. They tied it directly to Trump’s ramped‑up deportation campaign, the rollback of “sensitive location” protections, and the new Master ICE Tracker they just launched to systematically log abuses, from illegal arrests to citizens getting scooped up in the dragnet.  They framed it as both a fact‑finding mission and a public shaming: put the victims and data on the record now so no one can pretend later they “didn’t know” what ICE and CBP were doing under Trump.

In terms of what actually went down, Democrats brought in people who’ve lived this nightmare: families ripped apart by raids, U.S. citizens wrongfully detained, folks grabbed at schools, churches, and hospitals now that Trump torched the old Biden‑era limits on arresting people at “protected” places.  You had testimony about kids traumatized watching their parents taken, protesters getting roughed up or hit with bogus “assault on an officer” charges, and communities living in constant fear because ICE and Border Patrol know there’s basically zero real accountability coming from Trump’s DHS.  They also leaned heavily on investigations showing more than a hundred U.S. citizens getting detained in this chaos, plus the way Border Patrol brass has been parachuted into top ICE jobs despite a long rap sheet of internal misconduct red flags.

The power of it wasn’t in some fancy committee room; it was in the visuals and the receipts. You had House Oversight Dems making it clear they’re building an evidence trail with this Master ICE Tracker, documenting every time agents hit a school, hospital, or church, and every time a citizen or lawful resident gets dragged into custody.  Local leaders and advocates called out DHS as “out of control” and “unaccountable,” and Democrats vowed to take these shadow hearings around the country so Trump officials and Republican chairs cannot bury the story in D.C. procedure games.  Bottom line: it was a raw, deliberate counter‑programming move against Trump’s “law and order” spin, and it landed as a warning shot that there’s now an organized paper trail being built for future accountability.

Genesis Mission

If you want the details on Trump going full Wall Street and launching the “Genesis Mission,” buckle up—this is pure MAGA chaos meets big-money government overreach. Trump’s crew just handed nearly $9 billion of taxpayer cash to buy up almost 10% of Intel, a historic first for the feds in peacetime. No, they’re not taking over the company, but they get major say, and the investment comes with backdoor warrants to scoop up even more stock if Intel goes sideways. It’s all part of a push to flex on China in the chip wars and turn America into the semiconductor king again, but critics are already howling about crony capitalism and the blurred line between federal intervention and the free market.

As for the Genesis Mission, Trump made it sound like the Manhattan Project for the 2020s—his version of an AI supercharge. He signed an executive order unleashing federal science agencies and the Department of Energy to build a one-stop AI platform that puts all their secret data and supercomputers into the mix so private enterprises and national labs can cook up “breakthroughs” that supposedly will double scientific productivity and national security. The plan is to smash together Big Tech, government assets, and universities—streamlining everything for AI innovation—and “kickstart” federal data-sharing so researchers can train mega-models on everything from biotech to energy systems.

But it’s not just tech nerd dreams and innovation PR. Genesis Mission also sets up new rules: states that try to clamp down on AI with strict regulations could lose federal funding, and the DOJ might go after them. Expect lawsuits, expect drama, expect a lot of noise about freedom versus “the swamp.” Meanwhile, Trump’s already boasting about courting Saudi money and teaming up with Musk and Nvidia for next-level chips and data centers, aiming to make America the world’s AI powerhouse.

It all feels like a turbocharged merger between government and Big Tech—flooding the private sector with public cash and giving MAGA a shot at controlling the future of science, defense, and corporate power. No matter how you slice it, it’s a seismic move that has Wall Street, DC, and Silicon Valley in a frenzy right now.

Trump’s Deportation Machine: Refugees in the Crosshairs and ICE on Overdrive

Here’s how Trump’s immigration crackdown is playing out this week. The administration has ordered a massive review of all refugees who came in during Biden’s term—about 233,000 people are suddenly facing the threat of losing their status if they don’t line up with new rulebooks. This isn’t some abstract audit; USCIS stopped processing green cards for these refugees entirely, meaning anyone who thought they were settling in for good is now at risk of being told to pack up and leave, with no right to appeal unless they end up fighting in immigration court. Even folks who already have their green cards aren’t safe—they can be dragged back in for a re-interview and possibly stripped of their status.

Joe Edlow, Trump’s handpicked USCIS boss, put his name on the order and aimed it at what he calls Biden’s “expediency over security”—claiming that volume was prioritized over thorough vetting. Critics say this is just political showboating, pure and simple. The whole move brought outrage from refugee advocates, legal groups, and even some inside DC who call it “heartless” and accuse Trump’s team of weaponizing the bureaucracy for MAGA points in the news cycle.

And ICE? They’re on a tear, posting record daily detention numbers—over 65,000 migrants locked up, plus thousands more getting ousted every week. At the current pace, deportations could smash through half a million cases for the year. ICE is crowing about “innovative partnerships” and expanded detention facilities, while activists are blasting the arrests as kidnappings and lawsuits are stacking up. More and more non-criminal immigrants and even children are winding up in federal shelters, setting all-time records and sending immigrant-rights groups into overdrive.

This is raw politics and real human lives, all tangled up in a high-stakes MAGA PR blitz. The White House isn’t backing down, and it’s clear that the parade of arrests, detentions, and threatened deportations is exactly the image Trump wants to project—whether or not the courts or public opinion let him get away with it.

International updates…ugh

International chaos is front and center thanks to Trump’s latest bold moves in South America and Europe. First up, Venezuela: the administration just labeled President Maduro and his network—the so-called “Cartel de los Soles”—a foreign terrorist organization. That gives Trump way more power to slap sanctions on Venezuela’s bigwigs, freeze their assets, and ramp up pressure, though he’s telling his senior team not to expect missile strikes right now. The Pentagon’s flexing muscle in the Caribbean, running anti-drug ops and military drills, which has the Venezuelans fuming—calling the terrorist label an “absurd fabrication.” Legal experts say the new designation opens the door for a lot of things, but it's mostly about financial warfare and giving Trump leverage rather than launching real bombs.

Meanwhile, the Ukraine front is just as wild. Russia’s leadership—Kremlin and all—went public hyping “Trump’s framework” as the only meaningful peace plan on the table. The Trump plan is already stirring up big-time drama: it asks Ukraine to make major concessions, like giving up territory and limiting its military and pledging never to join NATO, while dangling a new security guarantee that’s supposed to mimic NATO’s commitment against future attacks. Trump’s team spun this as a “win-win” that could finally end the war and unlock billions in aid to rebuild, but Ukrainian officials are publicly nervous, diplomats are scrambling, and some European allies are pitching counter-offers to try and soften the terms.

And then there’s the Karoline factor. At yesterday’s briefing, the press secretary played dodgeball with every tough question. She kept repeating that the Ukraine peace proposal is “good for both sides,” but never offered specifics about Russia or Ukraine, and danced around concerns about justice, amnesty, and security guarantees. Reporters grilled her on whether the plan was drafted mostly by Moscow—and whether Trump’s team is selling out Ukrainian interests for a “historic moment.” Nothing but stonewalling and vague MAGA optimism, as usual. The headlines are flying, the critics are loud, and nobody’s got a clear answer on what happens next.

Approval Ratings…not looking good MAGA

Here’s how Trump’s popularity is unraveling fast: his approval rating is underwater, hitting new lows at about 41%, with close to 58% of Americans now actively disapproving of his performance. Independents have bailed in droves—76% of them are calling Trump’s economic management a failure, and even among Republicans, his numbers have sagged noticeably since the start of the year. Suburban voters, traditionally swing territory, have tuned out, pushing Trump’s overall approval eleven points down from March and making him less popular now than almost any recent president at this stage.

On the economic front, it’s especially brutal. Support for Trump’s stewardship of the economy cratered fifteen points since spring, landing at a dismal 36% approval. Inflation and rising costs for basics have voters blaming Trump, and most folks polled believe his economic policies have “hurt” them more than “helped.” Even among his loyal base, there’s fresh skepticism—a drop from 88% to 81% support among Republicans for his handling of the economy, and independents have all but abandoned him on financial matters. It’s a sea change, reflecting just how much faith people have lost in the MAGA economic promises.

Adding to the drama, the House GOP is facing its own meltdown. After Marjorie Taylor Greene’s abrupt resignation, there’s panic and rumors swirling about a mass exodus—members fed up with Trump’s “arrogance” and Speaker Mike Johnson’s refusal to back them up. At least a half-dozen senior Republicans are reportedly preparing to bolt, with insiders warning the rank-and-file are “more upset than ever” and a “tinder box” atmosphere is brewing. There’s real fear the party could lose its fragile majority long before midterms, and some say morale is at rock bottom—the White House keeps treating members “like garbage,” and there’s no sign of things getting fixed with Johnson in the chair.

So it’s not just the numbers—Trump’s own party is making headlines for wanting out, and every poll points to a growing MAGA hangover nobody in power seems able to shake.

Exposing the Origins: MAGA’s Global Troll Army on X

Over the weekend, X rolled out a feature where anyone could see the actual locations of where “groups” and accounts were created—including those massive MAGA supporter accounts that have been dominating political discourse. Turns out, thousands of these supposedly grassroots American accounts were actually forged and funneled from overseas—Russia, Eastern Europe, Thailand, Nigeria, Bangladesh, you name it. The receipts were wild: even some blue check accounts that parade as “real patriots” are pumping out content from halfway around the world. The discovery was instant—users figured it out within hours of launch, and the whole thing went viral with people screenshotting and blasting the revelations.

Elon Musk and his head of product tried to play it cool, but after the feature triggered an online explosion and frantic speculation (plus a few mistakenly outed U.S. agency accounts), they yanked it within hours. By Monday, it was back with changes—no more showing creation-location history, just the country of the current IP. But the damage was done: for those few hours, the entire MAGA influencer game was laid bare. People were joking it was the “greatest day” for platform sleuths and democracy activists, and GOP talking points started scrambling to control the narrative as Democrats roasted them for foreign troll farm operations.

The feature may be permanently nerfed after the backlash, but the three-alarm learning moment is still burning across X. New debates are exploding over authenticity, election integrity, and if Musk’s revenue-sharing schemes just fueled this global bot bonanza. The fallout exposed digital deception at a scale not seen since the darkest days of 2016, and now the world knows damn well where a huge chunk of the MAGA noise is really coming from.

Trump’s healthcare Rollout…that never rolled out

Trump’s promised new healthcare rollout hit a wall yesterday: the administration postponed its official announcement after fierce pushback from conservative Republicans. The new plan would extend Affordable Care Act (ACA/Obamacare) insurance premium subsidies for two more years and introduce new rules about who qualifies—specifically, income caps and minimum monthly premium payments for everyone who enrolls.

Millions of Americans relying on these subsidies are facing premium hikes as current rates expire at the end of December, but Trump’s team proposed limiting eligibility to individuals earning up to 700% of the federal poverty level—far stricter than previous “open-ended” deals. Conservatives objected, calling the proposal a reversal of Trump’s repeated criticisms of Obamacare, while Democrats are skeptical about restrictions and the possibility of increased out-of-pocket costs for families.

Here's what the 700% of the federal poverty level means:  Trump’s team wants to cap healthcare subsidy eligibility at 700% of the federal poverty level (FPL). For 2025, that threshold for a single person is $15,650—so 700% is $109,550 annual income. For a family of four, 700% is about $224,350 a year.

·      Example: If you’re a single adult making $110,000 or more, you wouldn’t qualify for government health insurance subsidies under Trump’s plan. For a family of four, you’d need to earn less than about $224,000 to get the subsidy.

It’s a much higher limit than some other programs, but it still puts a hard ceiling on who can get cheaper insurance from the government for the next two years. Anyone earning above that would pay full price.

The administration floated new options for enrollees, such as partial tax credits to be used in health savings accounts, aiming to appeal to both conservatives and those wanting direct aid. The rollout, however, has now been delayed with the White House indicating more negotiation will happen before Congress sees a final version—meaning nothing is settled yet, and uncertainty for Americans on ACA plans remains high.

Pink Sweater Drama

I had NO CLUE this was a thing…but here’s what MAGA world was focused on….The pink sweater drama kicked off when J.Crew launched a men’s fair-isle winter sweater in bright bubblegum pink—retailing for $168. Conservative influencer Juanita Broaddrick blasted the sweater on X, igniting an instant pile-on by MAGA supporters and right-wing commentators. The outrage focused on claims that the sweater “emasculated” men, with some users insisting real men wouldn’t wear anything pink, and Tennessee congressman Tim Burchett even joked it looked like “something a sorority girl would wear in the 80s”.

The viral moment quickly devolved into a theatrical display of hyper-politicized masculinity, as MAGA voices declared the pink sweater was a sign of “the downfall of Western masculinity.” Memes, photoshopped images of Democratic figures in the sweater, and posts swearing no man in their families would touch pink circulated widely. For days, the sweater became a culture war talking point showing how, in today’s MAGA-fueled online world, even something as harmless as a fashion choice turns into a political flashpoint.

I’m glad they have so much energy to put into this…<sigh>

Trump Grift’s and their failures

Trumpworld’s cash grabs and market plays are unraveling fast—almost every money-making project backed by Trump, his family, and MAGA insiders is crashing, sparking major concern about grift and abuse of power.

•                              The Trump Phone Flop: Promoted as the “official MAGA smartphone,” the Trump Mobile T1 phone missed every promised launch date this year. Pre-orders were plagued by website failures, payment errors, zero shipment confirmations, and a moving release window now pushed to the vague “end of December.” Trump supporters left in the lurch are blaming the government for the delay, but there is no sign any phones have shipped. The made-in-USA claims vanished after experts called out the lack of facilities, and the company credibility is shot.

•                              Crypto and Truth Social Crashes: The Trump family has lost over $1 billion in wealth in just months, thanks to disastrous investments in cryptocurrency and Truth Social. Their memecoins, Bitcoin mining ventures, and massive Bitcoin “treasury” at Trump Media & Technology Group have all imploded with the latest crypto crash, slashing the value of Trump’s personal stake in Truth Social by around $800 million since September. Eric Trump and Trump Media have suffered millions in losses and are under fire for risky plunges into digital assets, while Truth Social itself is bleeding money despite wild MAGA hype.

•                              MAGA Profiteering and Insider Trading: Trump allies like Marjorie Taylor Greene made tens or hundreds of thousands trading stocks around MAGA policy moves—buying tech shares and other companies right before Trump paused tariffs, which swung markets and led to surges in value. Lawmakers and ethics watchdogs suspect insider access is giving Trump insiders and family a huge profit advantage before these market-shaking announcements.

Why is this concerning? Trump, his family, and top MAGA figures have reaped short-term windfalls from market manipulation, crypto speculation, and scammy product launches—leaving everyday investors, supporters, and taxpayers carrying the losses as projects flop. Critics argue the pattern reflects everything wrong with Trump’s business approach: hype, questionable transparency, little accountability, and using his platform to rake in MAGA dollars at the public’s expense. As these ventures continue to crash, so does public trust in Trump’s financial stewardship and motives.
