We are TWENTY days into a Trump-driven war that was lit up to cover greed, corruption, and God knows what else, and somehow we’re supposed to just go to work, pay higher prices, watch the news, and act like this is normal. It is not normal.
Trump, who his cult literally props up like he’s Jesus, is a crook, an idiot, and a fundamentally awful human being. “Make America Great Again”? Everything costs more, we’re flirting with global collapse, and the people in charge are treating war like a TV season instead of a last resort. We “can’t afford” basic medical care, but we can magically find tens and hundreds of billions of dollars for this war. Funny how that works.
He’s surrounded by spineless, greedy opportunists who keep him propped up because power tastes better to them than doing the right thing. Add Fettermann and the rest of the enablers to the list at this point. We’ve got actual clowns in charge of deadly serious shit—Pete Hegseth, a TV warrior playing real-life Call of Duty as head of DoD, out here asking for another $200B because “it takes money to kill the bad guys.” That’s the level of thinking steering this.
Trump is out here talking about taking Cuba. He’s publicly blaming Israel for blowing up a major gas facility in northern Iran, Iran hits back in Qatar and elsewhere, and suddenly we’re on the edge of something way bigger than anyone can actually control. And then this man, in the Oval Office, in front of the Japanese prime minister, drops “just like they didn’t tell me about Pearl Harbor,” like history and diplomacy are punchlines in his stand-up routine. What the actual fuck.
Iran is getting more aligned, Russia is helping them, Trump is lifting oil sanctions when it suits him, and global institutions are literally gaming out what happens if a nuke goes off. A nuclear detonation is not an abstract concept to them—it’s a scenario they are actively modeling because this is how reckless our leadership is right now.
And then there’s me: a vet who gave this country 22 years of my life. I have flown my flag through all of this. I’ve wanted to take it down so many times. So many. To watch Trump and his orbit burn this place down in just over a year and lie their way through every inch of it? It’s breaking something in me I didn’t think could break.
I’m going to be real: today, my flag is getting flipped. I’ve had it. That is my line. I am not going to fly that thing upright while this government—Republicans and Democrats who KNOW this is wrong and stay quiet—shrugs its way toward potentially nuclear escalation and endless war for profit.
You get what you tolerate. I’m done tolerating. If you’re feeling even a fraction of this, stand up in whatever way you can—speak, vote, protest, call, refuse to normalize this. But at the very least, stop pretending this is fine.
I can’t write policy breakdowns today. This is what you get. I’ll try to reset—sleep, vitamin D, and regroup—but I’m not going to gaslight myself or any of you into thinking this moment deserves anything less than full-throated outrage.
