Epstein Drama…
On the Epstein files, get ready for fireworks. The House is about to vote on a bill to force the DOJ to cough up all the Jeffrey Epstein case files — including anything on his partners, settlement agreements, and the decision-making about his prosecution and infamous “suicide.” It’s a bipartisan push, driven by a discharge petition, but Trump and the Republican leadership are pretty loudly against releasing the goods. If the bill passes (which is likely in the House, could be soon as Monday night or Tuesday), it heads to the Senate, where it faces resistance. Even if it somehow makes it through both chambers, Trump’s probably going to veto it. So expect some MAGA stonewalling, intraparty grumbling, and a social media war as the secrets threaten to spill.

Immigration Updates
ICE is back on the offensive and it’s about to get intense. Trump has amped up ICE and Border Patrol activity in several cities (Charlotte and New Orleans are especially in the crosshairs), and there’s a new wave of raids and deportations underway. At the same time, a major Chicago court order just forced ICE to start releasing hundreds of people who were taken in without due process — and this could expand to more if the feds keep playing fast and loose. Expect more brazen arrests, protests, and fights between local officials and the administration, especially as the courts start clamping down on “Operation Midway Blitz” and similar crackdowns. There’s a real battle brewing between immigration advocates, judges, and Trump’s enforcement machine.

Weekend Schedule for Dear Leader
Trump’s schedule for the next several days is heavy on Florida, photo ops, and his usual high-profile MAGA events. He’s spending this weekend through early next week at Mar-a-Lago, probably golfing and hosting some donors. There’s also talk he’ll be at the annual “Trump–Graham Classic” golf fundraiser, and of course, he’s expected to keep stoking the drama online and in the press about everything from the shutdown to investigations swirling around him and his circle.

MAGA Loyalty
On MAGA loyalty within the administration, the cracks are showing but the core remains fanatically loyal. The fight over the Epstein files is exposing big rifts, with some Republicans ready to break with the president just to avoid more bad headlines. Meanwhile, diehards around Trump—especially in ICE, DOJ, and his comms team—are digging in, spinning every controversy as either a win for tough governance or another example of the “deep state” trying to sabotage Trump’s agenda. Watch for more leaks, some panic scrambling by second-tier staffers, and the MAGA base doubling down as scandals get closer to the inner circle.

The Lies that were told this week….
Trump has been all over the place, lying straight-faced about inflation, tariffs, and prescription drug prices—his favorite lines are blaming Biden for grocery costs while simultaneously claiming that his tariffs don’t raise consumer prices (when even Fox had to call him out on that one). He also repeated the wild claim that he warned his team about Osama bin Laden years before 9/11, which is utterly bogus, and tried to rewrite history by suggesting Democrats wanted the shutdown to hurt Americans, even when it was MAGA House drama that dragged things out. Additionally, at a recent event, he pushed a fake story that he could see victims jumping from the World Trade Center on 9/11 from his apartment miles away.
JD Vance spent the week spreading a debunked, hateful rumor that Haitian migrants were eating people’s pets in Ohio. This story was publicly called out by officials as totally made up—and even after the facts came out, Vance defiantly doubled down on TV, then went so far as to say he’d “create stories” to get media attention if needed. He kept fueling conspiracy fires, even when the local police reports proved the rumors were baseless and fabricated online.
Pam Bondi went on TV making wild, mathematically impossible claims about how many lives she’s saved through fentanyl busts, first saying 119 million and then—after being called out—ramped it up to a ridiculous 258 million. She also misrepresented hate speech laws, suggesting threats of violence are “not protected” when legal experts pointed out she had no clue what she was talking about. Bondi dodged questions and launched baseless accusations against Democrats in Senate hearings, refusing to correct her record and help clarify the facts.
Kash Patel jumped in with Bondi, putting out a public statement that was directly refuted and labeled “false” by DOJ investigators in last month’s indictment. Patel spent much of this week spinning stories about DOJ “corruption,” none of which have actually checked out upon investigation.
Pete Hegseth was name-dropped by Trump concerning the bin Laden story—Trump falsely claimed he warned Hegseth years before the attacks, which simply never happened.
Fox News kept the MAGA echo chamber buzzing, amplifying Trump’s tariff lies and pushing the shutdown narrative, even when their own anchors corrected Trump on air. They also let Vance repeat his Haitian pet claims with little pushback, despite the story being debunked by local officials and investigative reporters.
NewsMax took it even further, continuously running segments on debunked election fraud conspiracies from years past, and this week, they amplified Pam Bondi’s impossible fentanyl “save” stats, never challenging the math.
Steve Bannon used his show to claim that the House vote on the Epstein files is a “deep state plot” (no evidence, just speculation), and painted ICE operations as “major wins” despite the Chicago court ordering releases because of human rights violations.
Lindsey Halligan was accused by numerous outlets of misrepresenting evidence in the Epstein case, telling Congress last Tuesday that her team had “no access to key files” when emails released this week showed she’d viewed them in advance.
MAGA Mike (Johnson) told House colleagues that the shutdown was “100% caused by Democrat obstruction”—plain false, since the drama was all in the Republican caucus. He also claimed the Epstein files vote would “expose Democrat corruption” when most evidence suggests cross-party responsibility.
