Supersized Shame…Trump’s Visit to Saudi

Trump lands in Saudi Arabia, gets the royal treatment from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman-yes, the same guy known for brutal crackdowns and mass executions. Trump calls him a “friend” and acts like everything’s just business as usual, while they sign off on a $600 billion investment deal and the biggest arms package in U.S. history. He’s surrounded by American billionaires and CEOs, all eager for a piece of the action, and not a word about human rights or the Saudis’ record of silencing dissent.

And just when you think it can’t get more embarrassing, the Saudis roll out a McDonald’s mobile truck just for Trump. Seriously-a custom-built, double-decker McDonald’s parked in Riyadh so he can get his Big Mac fix. Videos of it went viral. This is the guy representing America on the world stage? Eating fast food (there is no data to show he actually ate McDonald’s…but still) out of a truck while cozying up to a regime that literally beheads people? And then he has the nerve to justify accepting a “gift” of a luxury plane, like that’s some win for the American people.

I don’t know about you, but watching this circus play out makes me embarrassed as an American. Trump isn’t representing us-he’s representing himself, his brand, and his billionaire buddies. The rest of us are just supposed to swallow it and pretend this is normal. It’s not.

Gaza Update

The situation in Gaza right now is catastrophic and getting worse by the day. Israeli airstrikes have intensified across the Gaza Strip, killing at least 70 people just today, with many of the victims being women and children. Residential neighborhoods, hospitals, and refugee camps-like Jabalia-are being hit, leaving families dead or buried under rubble. Medical teams are struggling to rescue survivors, often working by cellphone light because so much of the infrastructure has been destroyed.

MEDICAID Proposed Changes

Republicans want to make Trump’s tax cuts permanent and throw in more breaks for the rich-like making tips and overtime tax-free. How are they paying for it? By gutting programs like Medicaid.

The big move: if you’re on Medicaid and under 65, you’d have to prove you’re working, in school, or volunteering at least 20 hours a week just to keep your health coverage. Tons of people could lose insurance-not because they’re lazy, but because of all the new paperwork and red tape. We’re talking millions at risk, just so the wealthy get another tax break.

This isn’t about “waste” or “fairness.” It’s about pushing people off healthcare to fund more handouts for billionaires. If you care about working families, pay attention. This is what’s really on the chopping block.

Pride Month…cancelled at Trump’s level…but not at ours!

Trump’s team just came out on 8 May (Karoline actually stated it…no cross on that day) and said they’re not recognizing June as Pride Month. No federal support, no acknowledgment, nothing. What kind of message does that send? It says loud and clear that LGBTQ+ people don’t matter to this administration. It’s a step backwards, plain and simple.

This isn’t just about skipping a rainbow flag on the White House. It’s about rolling back visibility, making it easier for hate to spread, and telling millions of Americans they don’t count. When the government refuses to even recognize Pride, it gives a green light to discrimination and silence.

We should be moving forward, not erasing people. Pride is about visibility, acceptance, and fighting for equality-something every American should care about. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

9 Death’s

Since January 2025, nine immigrants have died while in ICE custody. Here’s what’s known about how they died.

Medical neglect and untreated illness

One Ethiopian man died from complications of untreated HIV and tuberculosis after not getting the specialized care he needed during five months in ICE detention.

Marie Ange Blaise, a 44-year-old Haitian woman, died after complaining of chest pain for hours at the Broward Transitional Center in Florida. She was given pills and told to rest, but never woke up.

Maksym Chernyak, a Ukrainian, died after suffering seizures and what was suspected to be a hemorrhagic stroke while waiting for a hospital transfer. He’d entered the U.S. legally but was detained after an arrest.

Suicide

Brayan Rayo-Garzón, a 27-year-old Colombian, died by hanging himself in a Missouri detention facility.

Natural causes and other medical issues

Nhon Ngoc Nguyen, a 55-year-old Vietnamese man, died of what ICE called “natural causes” in Texas.

Genry Ruiz Guillén, a 29-year-old Honduran, died in Florida; Serawit Gezahegn Dejene, a 45-year-old Ethiopian, died in Arizona; and Juan Alexis Tineo-Martinez, a 44-year-old Dominican, died in Puerto Rico. Reports didn’t specify the exact causes for these deaths, but they happened in ICE custody during this period.

Other cases

Abelardo Avelleneda-Delgado, a 68-year-old Mexican, died in Georgia, but the cause wasn’t specified.

There’s also mention of one more recent, unnamed case, with no details yet released.

Advocacy groups and lawmakers are raising the alarm about overcrowding, poor medical care, and lack of transparency in ICE detention centers, saying these issues may have contributed to the deaths.

NINE people have died in ICE custody since January, with causes ranging from medical neglect and untreated illness to suicide and natural causes-though for several, the exact details haven’t been made public yet.

Every time we show up-every call, every march, every post-we make it clear: we’re not backing down. History proves that peaceful protest is one of the most powerful tools we have to demand justice and real change. From the Salt March to Selma to the streets today, it’s ordinary people like us who’ve forced the world to listen and made the impossible possible.

The challenges are real, and those in power are doing everything they can to silence us. But we know our rights, and we know our power. When we stand together, we’re louder than any billionaire, any politician, any regime that tries to shut us up. We’ve seen it time and again-when we keep fighting, keep calling, and keep marching, we win.

So don’t let up now. Keep making those calls. Keep speaking out. And on June 14, let’s hit the streets again-louder, prouder, and stronger than ever. Bring your signs, your friends, your courage, and your hope. Every single one of us matters. Together, we’re unstoppable.

See you in the streets. The future is ours to claim.
